Samantha Aldana is a Belizean-American visual artist based in Los Angeles. Working across painting, mixed media, and experimental film, her work explores abstraction, atmosphere, and emotional landscapes, drawing on magical realism, spiritualism, and cultural folklore.

Aldana maintains an active studio practice, creating large-scale abstract paintings, murals, wearable art, and commissioned works, with an emphasis on color, texture, and emotional resonance.

She is the illustrator of Zoo Krewe, written by Kelly Murtagh and published by Arcadia Publishing, available through Barnes & Noble. Her previous children’s book work includes Dragons of New Orleans by Bruce Dear and In the Garden with You, among others.

In addition to her studio work, Aldana is the founder of Mayalune Rising, an arts initiative focused on expanding access to creative education through workshops, mentorship, and community-centered programming, supporting youth and emerging artists in developing their creative voice.
